A friend in the UK told me something which I find close to unbelievable. In his town, He is the only person with Internet connection! He found this out when employees from the broadband company told him that they had to dig posts and install a few miles of cable when he applied for a line.
Primitive? Maybe not! It is possible that all the residents in his area are all using dial up and more so, most of them are connected via high speed satellite internet.
In an informal survey on friends and relatives, I found out that most of them have internet connections but a good number still use the slow dial up.
For me, satellite internet is the wave of the future. For people like me who likes the idea of holding office in coffee shops, gym lobbies, restaurants and basically everywhere, there is no better idea than being to do business online from both the top of jungfraujoch and an isolated beach resort in Palawan.
For my house, I would prefer to have satellite internet access for a number of reasons. Satellite internet is available wherever one may choose to live, installs easily and does not require long fiber optic cables. Should one ask me for recommendations, I most probably will refer usasatellite.com
