Organizing a birthday these days is not as easy as it used to. It used to be as simple as cooking good food and inviting everybody to come over. Especially for children’s parties, things are a bit more complicated and exhausting for the hosts. Entertainment and party supplies have become a big necessity and organizing a children’s gathering is just like putting up a major production.
My recent experience went this way: Early morning marked the start of a long day. We went to a popular business district where wholesalers and retailers sold various party supplies like balloons, give aways, loot bags, figurines, cake decors, party hats and many other things. In my experience, not a single store had everything we needed. The shopping trip became a major expedition, with our credit cards having to be swiped a number of times and our wallets being forced to give cash to merchants not accepting plastic.
My experience told me that people need not brave the crowds, pickpockets, unscrupulous traders, heat and dust. Online shopping should make it easier for people to select what they want, together with their kids and order everything online. With that, party organizers will have more time to take care of the most important aspect- inviting guests.
